Von Bourland Von Bourland has been a member of the Panhandle Professional Writers Club and the Hi-Plains Poetry Society of Amarillo, Texas, for several years. She is now in her second term as Treasurer of the Panhandle Professional Writers (PPW), and has served as Hospitality Chair of the Hi-Plains Poetry Society. She is a native of Snyder, Texas, and writes poetry, non-fiction, nostalgia, fiction, and, just for fun, sometimes Science Fiction. She is now working on a YA novel with a diary format. Her publishing credits include: The Roswell Incident Alternate Theory Anthology, published by Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy Magazine. She won 5th place with a story titled Mother Earth's Warning. A story titled Hidden in Plain Sight was published in Good Old Days Magazine, July 2000, Specials Issue. A poem titled Iggy Biggy Ziggy Zoon, about a creature living on the moon, was published in Millennium Science Fiction & Fantasy On-Line Magazine, November, 2000. Von's poetry has won several contests in the Hi-Plains Poetry Society bi-monthly contests. Her interests other than writing include a home-based business, music, crafts, and travelling with her husband. She has a singing ministry at one of the health care facilities in Amarillo twice a week.
