Autumn Moon

By Shawen A. Greer

The glow of the autumn moon
seeps through the clouds
creating milky shadows.
Abstract features return my stare,
watching,
as I
lost in thoughts of you
sit idly by
unaware of heavenly enchantment.
Comfortable in my solitary state
remembering the feel of your soft lips
as they brushed my neck,
your body pressed to mine
mirroring action with reaction,
lustful words
whispered in breathless growls
filling my eager ears.
I ease back into the soft caress of the grass
conscious of reality's hardness.
Sighing an I love you to the man in moon,
I bid him carry those words to you.
Did you hear me?
