How We Live Our Life

By Charlie Jones

We never know how good God is, he does so much each day.
If you are one who wonders, and to Him each day prays.

We live our lives, falsely thinking we are in control,
Always striving, always working to fulfill only our goal.

What is our goal? Time short, upon this fragile earth,
Our life should stand for something, of value and of worth.

Don't ever miss a chance to help someone who's in need,
If nothing but a hug or word, compassion should exceed.

Our life is just a mirror of who we have become
Others watch us day by day, anxious of the sum.

He gave us life, He nurtured us, but lets us have a voice
In how we live, good or bad, He gave us the choice.

When the breath you take for granted is counted as the last,
Will you appear before the throne, regretful of the past?

Our goad should be simple, be like Him every day.
To reach it, not so simple, for that we have to pray.

When we see Jesus on the day that He has always known,
I hope that He is smiling, His love through us was shown.
