On October 28th, eighteen Highland members enjoyed an outing at our church camp, Camp Gilmont, near Gilmer. The weather was slightly cool, just right for a Fish Fry. We were joined by folks from Presbyterian churches all around East Texas, from Texarkana to Carthage. The scenery around Gilmont was great, and will be even better during November, as the fall colors emerge. Our folks enjoyed the abundance of food and fellowship, as well as the fun of taking a group tour throughout the property on a "trolley" that the camp provides. The youngsters enjoyed the volley ball and the canoeing. This facility is located just off Hiway 155 about 6 miles northeast of Gilmer. It can be visited year-round. It doesn't take long to get there, and is well worth the trip.
