Laura Stamps, an accomplished poet who ably weaves visual images into her written tapestry, has joined the Hawkwind family of writers. Her first collection, Everyday Esctasy and Other Poems, is now posted.

We have received many submissions from new and previously published writers and are working on them now.

Scott Malby will have several new poems added to his collection in the next few days.

Harry Buschman continues to add to his impressive collection of short stories. Three new stories will be posted soon.

We ask that you keep my daughter Jorah Long, our co-publisher/editor, in your prayers as she undergoes treatment for cancer. As many of you know, Jorah has created many of the great page layouts on our site and was solely responsible for the creation and presentation of our Words on the Wind collection that deals with the attacks on America on Sept. 11, 2001.

Hawkwind is pleased to announce that Allen Itz, a most wonderful and expressive poet, is the recipient of our second Hawkwind Featured Writer honor.

His most recent collection entitled Random Acts of Middle Age Reflection is spellbinding. It is a collection one will be compelled to read from start to finish.

TERRY LOWENSTEIN UPDATE

Terry Lowenstein recently found out that she has work (5 different poems) in three upcoming anthologies. Two of the three books are books put together because of the events of September 11 and will be available at Barnes and Noble. She reported she also heard again from Storyhouse (this is a company that prints poetry and articles on the labels for their coffee). Her work was accepted and the coffee with her poetry on it will be available after Nov. 14th. The Pedestal Magazine accepted as well the poetry she wrote because of the events of September 11. They are part of their issue online now.

From time to time the parenting magazines that publish her articles also publish them online on their web pages. You can read an article that has been printed in Northwest Baby and Child. The article is "My Mother's Gift."

WORDS ON THE WIND

Jorah Long

Many of our readers have commented on our special Words on the Wind section, which was conceived as a tribute to the thousands of victims lost on September 11, 2001 by the attack on America in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

This special presentation was conceived, planned and brought to completion by the untiring efforts of our Co-Publisher/ Editor Jorah Long. Jorah's artistic representations are found throughout Hawkwind and have helped mold our image into one in which we all take great pride.

Jorah's writings are also found in Hawkwind.
